About Montana Bar Fairies
Our Mission
Drunk driving isn’t just a statistic—it’s a reality that devastates families, friends, and entire communities. Montana Bar Fairies was created to change that.
Through simple acts of gratitude, advocacy, and education, we work to prevent impaired driving, support families who have lost loved ones, and encourage responsible choices.
What started as a small effort to acknowledge those making the right choice has grown into a community-wide movement to create safer roads and honor lives lost.
Our Story
In March 2023, the unimaginable happened. Bobby Dewbre was struck and killed by a drunk driver while crossing the highway after celebrating his 21st birthday.
Bobby was the kind of person who made people feel seen, who could walk into a room and make everyone laugh. He was just weeks away from graduating with a welding certificate, with his whole future ahead of him. But his life was stolen in an instant by a repeat DUI offender.
Grief has a way of demanding action. Determined to turn heartbreak into change, Bobby’s mother, Beth McBride, and sister, Carli Seymour, looked for a way to prevent other families from experiencing the same loss.
They started noticing something—a pattern. Cars left overnight in bar parking lots. Signs that someone had made the responsible decision not to drive under the influence. Instead of seeing those cars as abandoned, they saw them as symbols of change.
That’s when an idea was born.
Early on weekend mornings, Montana Bar Fairies began placing $5 coffee gift cards on vehicles left overnight at bars and restaurants—a simple thank you for choosing not to drive drunk. But these cards weren’t just about gratitude.
Each one carries the face and story of a life lost to a DUI-related crash.
It’s a reminder that the choices we make don’t just affect us.
What started as a way to honor Bobby’s memory quickly became something bigger—a community movement to change the culture around drunk driving in Montana.
OUR IMPACT
Montana Bar Fairies has grown from a simple idea into a grassroots force for change.
Thousands of coffee cards placed on vehicles, encouraging responsible choices.
Expanded outreach into new communities, ensuring more people feel supported in making safe decisions.
Increased awareness around DUI prevention, sober curiosity, and grief support.
Pushing for stronger DUI laws, including support for Bobby’s Law, to hold repeat offenders accountable.
But there’s still work to do.
Montana has some of the highest drunk driving fatality rates in the country. Every single one of those numbers represents a person, a family, a life stolen too soon.
We believe those numbers can and must change.
